OUR STORY
Since 1963
THE ORIGINS
In 1963, in the heart of Taormina, Grandma Caterina's dream was born: to create a place where good food and hospitality were at the center of everything. Her daughter Giuseppina, together with Chef Antonio Maruca and Chef Ottavio Maruca, carried on this vision, creating what until 1981 was known as Trattoria da Antonio.
Growth
THE IDENTITY
Subsequently, Antonino (Nino) Nicita and his sister Anna grew the trattoria with passion and dedication, transforming it into a landmark and giving it the name that still represents it today. After Anna retired, Uncle Nino continued to run the restaurant until 2005.
Today and
THE FUTURE
Since 2005, Gianluca Nicita has carried on the tradition with an eye to the future, working alongside his uncle until 2018. Today, together with Caterina Nicita and the new generations, Giovanni Nicita and Krizia Caminiti, the story continues with the same passion, keeping the authenticity of Sicilian cuisine alive.
